Upcoming Show, Various Data

Proud to be sporting the blog in 2021. How vintage. Como patina. Très URL.

The upcoming show is October 23rd at the Ice Plant Bldg. in La Grange, Tex.

It will consist of large scale non-figurative paintings.

Following is a smattering of detail shots.

And the detail that I paint in a shack in Fayetteville, Tex.

Sammy

Here is Sammy framed...

As elsewhere stated, this is a portrait of Sam Houston. Fluent in Cherokee. Won independence from Mexico for Texas. Ran for President of Texas against Mirabeau B. Lamar. Whose camp stated, "Houston is a drunk." To which Houston's camp replied, "A drunk Houston is better than a sober Lamar." As Governor of Texas, his political career abruptly ended with the Civil War - when he refused to join the Confederacy.
